Measurements and Outcomes

The Artistic Dreams Arts, Leadership and Literacy Expansion Project’s desired results are assessed using the measurements described below:

Increase in Prosocial Behavior

We intend to see an increase in the students’ prosocial behavior over the course of program participation. Prosocial behavior is measured by the ADI Prosocial Behavior Checklist completed by the ADI teacher at the beginning and end of each semester.

Increase in Overall Academic Performance

We intend to see an increase in the overall academic performance of students over the course of program participation. Academic performance is measured by Student Report Cards collected at the beginning and end of each semester as well as the Parent Survey  and Student Assessment completed at the end of each semester.

Increase in Arts and Leadership Vocabulary

We intend to see an increase in students’ arts and leadership vocabulary over the course of program participation by verbal and written exercises and the use of personal student Dream Books, our student’s main writing tool. Vocabulary development is measured by the Student Assessment administered at the end of each semester.

Increase in Leadership Characteristics

We intend to see an increase in students’ leadership characteristics over the course of program participation. Leadership characteristics are measured by the Student Assessment administered at the end of each semester.

Increase in Growth Mindset

Growth mindset refers to the belief that our most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, creating a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment (as opposed to a “fixed mindset” where people believe that intelligence and talent are fixed traits that cannot be developed with effort). We intend to see an increase in students’ proclivity toward a growth mindset over the course of program participation. Growth mindset is measured by the Growth Mindset Questionnaire completed by students at the beginning and end of each semester.

Increase in School and Community Engagement

We intend to see an increase in students’ engagement in school and community. School and community engagement is measured by the Parent Survey and Student Assessment completed at the end of each semester.

Increase in Positive Attitudes towards School and Career
