My Story

Let me introduce myself…

My name is Martha Leonard and I started my life in a small town in southern New Hampshire. After graduating from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie NY with a BA in Anthropology, I moved to New York where I was chosen to be a New York City Teaching Fellow. I worked for 3 years as a special education teacher in the Bronx before taking time to travel and study Spanish. In my travels I fell in love with Colombia and remained there from 2012-2014 teaching at a bilingual school. During this time I became a certified yoga teacher and began bringing yoga, breath-work and mindfulness into the classroom setting. I became a certified Breath-Body-Mind teacher as well as completed the Fundamentals of Mindfulness through Mindful Schools. In 2014 continued on to Grand Cayman where I continued to work as a special educator. In Grand Cayman I had the unique opportunity to explore the Caribbean and Central America. I returned to the US in 2016 to land in Portland Maine, where I am excited to have the chance to explore a very different kind of ocean-life. I love yoga, dancing, being outside and connecting with new people. I am looking forward to connecting with you soon!
